Case Study

Theme: How did your church or congregation build authentic and spirit-led community across cultural and linguistic lines?

Raising up a church in the 21st century requires untold prayer and hard work—but even more so within communities that are working to bridge significant differences in cultures, languages, and faith expressions. This ECF Vital Practices case study shares the experiences of four congregations attempting to do just that. You will learn about:

  • The mission and ministry of each, including how its cross-cultural community began and has flourished
  • Key ideas each congregation has used to build community in their context
  • Reflections on what communities might have done differently, knowing what they now know

These four narratives offer valuable tips and help anticipate potential challenges for other churches seeking to build community across cultural and linguistic lines.
